Most healing takes place within 7 – 10 days. Immediately after the treatment there may be a very small amount of blood and lymphatic fluid so that the area treated resembles a graze. Specialize imported healing balms are used as a moisturiser and barrier.
It is important to keep the area clean and, after 2 weeks , application of healing balm can cease. As the area dries out, tiny scabs will form. These scabs must be protected at all times until they fall off naturally during the healing process. If the scabs are picked or knocked off prematurely, they will take pigment with them which may give rise to a slightly patchy result.
A colour top-up procedure or booster is given as a matter of course after 3 months to ensure 100% healing has taken place .
Micro-pigmentation is a two-step process and charged separately.
We all know the effect a strategically positioned beauty spot can have on accentuating the face. The most astonishing beauty icons are known to have strategically placed beauty spots on their faces or bodies for a seductive effect for years: think of historical figures like Marie Antoinette or more recent ones like Madonna. Others were lucky enough to be born with them: Marilyn Monroe, Cindy Crawford, Eva Mendes, Kate Upton, Angelina Jolie to name just a few.
Not all of us are lucky enough to have one in the right place but thankfully we now have Permanent Cosmetics to give us what we want. The most popular places for a beauty spot placement are just above the lip, high on the cheekbone, on the décolletage, or cheekily on the shoulder or bosom.
It is important to experiment with a pencilled in beauty spot first, to make sure you feel happy wearing it in that location, only then move on to having one permanently applied using Permanent Makeup. Only you will know that little secret of how it got there.
An unwanted shape or colour (grey/blue brows, orange brows or purple brows) can be corrected or minimised. Brows that have faded to an unnatural shade can be refreshed and made to look more flattering.

What is Dark Lip Neutralization? Dark Lip Neutralization is just another name for a cosmetic tattoo treatment that is utilized for clients who’s natural base undertone, (the natural color on their lips) is cool/dark. Simply adding the desired color on top of those tones would have undesirable results.
These treatments are wonderful for clients who wish to enhance / even out their natural color, wish to have a more dramatic over all lip color, or in cases of darker / cooler lips want a more neutral color that can then be enhanced.
Lip PMU will give you those perfectly kissable lips all day everyday without the hassle of lips stains or sticks, thus elevating your lip color and accentuating your natural shape for that perfect pout.

Others desire a more dramatic makeup look which can then and beautifully define the eyes. Both can easily be created and the choice is yours. The eyeliner enhancement procedure is also terrific for people with allergies to makeup, who are athletic, work late hours or who have poor vision.

Cosmetic tattoo is the perfect answer for hair loss irregularities due to:
Permanent Cosmetic tattoo hair replacement achieves the look of natural hair growth. It is achieved by placing micro points of pigment into the skin to create a shadow of colour that mimics the density of natural hair growth. The technique can be used to replace hair on the scalp, the beard, the moustache and the pubic region.
Note: Cosmetic tattoo hair replacement is not suitable for male pattern hair loss as the commitment and expense would make the programme too difficult.
Trichotillomania
Trichotillomania is a medical condition in which people compulsively pull out their hair, usually from their scalp, their eyebrows and their eyelashes.
The ‘pulling out’ of hair associated with Trichotillomania in many cases is a coping response to stress. If the repeated removal of the hair stops early enough then the hair loss that results will reverse. Most people with Trichotillomania however, continue to pull out their hair and eventually its absence becomes permanent.
Cosmetic tattoo – a versatile solution
The results of Trichotillomania can leave the sufferer feeling self-conscious and with low self esteem. Cosmetic tattoo can provide long term camouflage for those suffering with Trichotillomania by creating the optical illusion of hair growth where there is none.
If you have a scar of any type (surgery, accident, etc) the lighter coloured scars can be camouflaged long term using advanced medical tattooing treatments – during which skin coloured pigments are infused into the scar tissue to minimise its appearance.
For optimum results scars should be at least one year old and should be paler in colour than the surrounding skin.
Medical tattooing is not a suitable solution for all scarring. Notably if scars are hyper-pigmented (dark in colour); are noticeably raised or sunken; or have an uneven texture the treatment may be ineffective as these scar types have poor pigment retention capabilities. Therefore not all scar tissue, is suitable for treatment.
The most suitable scars to treat with medical tattooing are those that are the result of a clean cut, especially if the scars are the result of surgery – for example a facelift or breast remodelling.
Restoration of the Areola after Masectomy
Many women opt for breast reconstruction after mastectomy and as part of this process choose to have the nipple and areola (the pigmented area surrounding the nipple) created to complete the breast reconstruction.
The thought of further surgery to reconstruct the nipple and areola, for some, is too much to contemplate and they opt for cosmetic tattooing as an alternative method of creating a realistic looking result.
To improve the appearance of post-surgical scarring around the circumference of the areola due to breast reduction or breast uplift surgery, custom matched pigments are infused through the areola outward into the scar tissue to camouflage the scar.
Aesthetic Appearance For men and women who have areolas that are too small, asymmetrical and too pale or without definition cosmetic tattooing can achieve a balanced shape, even colouring and clarity.
Re-pigmentation of Vitiligo
Vitiligo is a chronic skin disease that causes loss of pigment, due to a deficiency in the melanocytes (pigment producing cells) resulting in irregular pale patches of skin. The precise cause of vitiligo is complex and not fully understood. There is some evidence suggesting it is caused by a combination of auto-immune, genetic, and environmental factors.
Vitiligo is successfully camouflaged using medical tattooing treatment. The results are accomplished by tattooing skin colour pigments into the hypo-pigmented skin (skin lacking colour) – diminishing the appearance of the Vitiligo.
Only Vitiligo that has been in remission for 1 year can be treated with medical tattoo techniques. The disturbance of an unstable Vitiligo site can stimulate the site to spread or new sites to establish in other areas.
Extremely large areas of Vitiligo are not possible to camouflage since the discomfort, commitment and expense would make the programme too difficult for the client.
During the consultation, custom blends of pigment are created and then 2-3 microscopic tests are carried out on areas of the Vitiligo site using the medical tattoo technique.
Prior to the medical tattooing process topical anaesthetics are applied to the skin to reduce the prickling sensation generated during the procedure. Each pigment infusion session normally takes 60 minutes and will require multiple treatment sessions for larger areas.
If you’ve decided microblading isn’t quite what you’re looking for, or you have particularly oily skin and your artist has advised you to go for machine shading instead, powder brows offer several patterns to choose from. One of them is ombre eyebrows.
Ombre eyebrows have emerged as a very sought-after procedure. What is ombre brows, who is it for, and what is so special about them?
What Are Ombre Powder Brows?
Inspired by the ombre hair trend, ombre brows (or ombré eyebrows) have become a huge trend in semi-permanent makeup for eyebrows. Just like the basic powder brows , it’s a procedure that gives you the look of filled-in, shaded brows, but with a special twist – the ombre effect.
All semi-permanent makeup procedures imply injecting pigments of natural origin , between the upper and the middle layer of the skin (dermis), and the same goes for powder ombre brows.
The pigment is inserted using a dotting technique called pixelization, giving a 3D, fluffy look to the eyebrows. The procedure is done using a machine specially designed for permanent makeup by a trained and licensed permanent makeup artist and has two steps: the initial pigmentation, and the touch up after 6 to 8 weeks.
The powder ombre brow effect is easily recognized by the color gradation that starts at the beginning of the brow arch – known as the head of the brow – in the center of the forehead and gets gradually darker towards the tail. This creates an illusion of fading.
The procedure involves the use of pigmented ink and a super fine needle to create hair-like tattoo strokes. These strokes look like natural hair. This technique doesn’t only thicken the appearance of eyebrows, it can also change the shape of your brows.
I had the privilege of training with 2 nano stroke – pioneers in the industry in Dublin and USA: Monica Ivani and Mary Richardson.
